LIVE SKETCHING

Module 1

Exploring Eksar Village

This module explored space beyond its physicality, emphasizing human interactions, movement, and cultural influences. A visit to Eksar Village deepened our understanding, shifting our focus from static structures to dynamic social landscapes. We observed how spaces evolved throughout the day—narrow alleys transformed from quiet pathways to bustling markets, and shaded corners became gathering spots. Boundaries between public and private spaces blurred, revealing the adaptability of the built environment.

To document these insights, we sketched spatial rhythms, density, and social energy, capturing how movement and activity influenced space utilization. These sketches led to form explorations, reimagining spatial characteristics and adaptability.

Through this process, we recognized that space is not just an enclosure but a fluid entity shaped by human presence and cultural habits. This experience fostered a deeper sensitivity to design as an enabler of experiences, reinforcing the idea that architecture must embrace flexibility, engagement, and social context.
