This module involved extensive site documentation and hands-on learning with the Total Station to map contours and elevations accurately. This data informed our design process, ensuring site-responsive solutions.

Focusing on terrain modulation, I developed a school design that blended seamlessly with the natural landscape, minimizing excavation and maximizing sustainability. Contour-based planning allowed structures to emerge organically, integrating open courtyards and terraces for fluid indoor-outdoor transitions.

The stepped design ensured level interconnectivity, transforming rooftops into play areas. Skylights and courtyards enhanced natural lighting while maintaining enclosure. By embedding spaces within the terrain, the design appeared light and harmonious with its surroundings.

This experience reinforced the importance of designing with, rather than against, the landscape. It deepened my understanding of architecture as an interactive and experiential medium, where space itself fosters learning, movement, and engagement with nature.
